Meet Samantha: A salt of the earth

Samantha doesn't run behind mirages, mirages run behind Samantha. The centrality of her deliverance does not cease to galvanize the reader into action and performance. Her narrative is worthy of being told to the world, for by any yardstick, her cognizance of fitness related issues is beyond human interpretation, yet very realistic. Her perception will not fail to stun you, yet motivate you to achieve higher. She isn't a fitness fanatic, neither does she go to the gym. But, her attempts of getting into that perfect shape will leave you puzzled. Read on to find out more about her opinions!

Samantha:

Let's get one thing straight. My name is Samantha and I’m NOT a fitness fanatic.

In August, I am going on a vacation to Croatia, and needless to say, I will spend most of my time at the beach. Conspicuously, my intuition and instinct, arouses a sense of wanting to look alluring and strong. For this reason, I am trying to exercise and eat healthier. I must not hesitate to mention that at my last bikini-try-on, I saw some improvement and this only pushes me to do more and better! But, my techniques of going about it are perhaps going to befuddle your mind, yet keep you indulged into reading more of my story.

I don’t go to the gym, but I try to exercise at home with what I have; and I happen to be the very living paragon that you don’t need to have a subscription to the gym to lose weight and get toned, so stop procrastinating and start working! My routine is pretty simple: if it’s a sunny weather, I go outside for jogging and try to go as many times as I can. I love being among the nature and it makes my workout lighter and more enjoyable; but since the Summer here in Italy is very hot right now, I just ride my exercise bike, which is even more tiring and challenging than jogging. But, I try to do a bit more and push myself every time and set a new personal record. I like to challenge myself you see.

I must elucidate one important exercise though. I do squats every day to get that perfect peachy bum, the number varies because it depends on how much workout I’ve done that day and how bad my asthma is – yes I also have asthma so now you really have no reason not to exercise! When I’m feeling really motivated and energetic, I try some new workout options such as planks, seal jacks, stair climbers, lunges and especially some yoga. Furthermore, I do use a few workout tools: I have a giant ball with which you can do a lot of exercises, a stepper and two weights. With these tools, even some improvised and homemade (you can create a workout circuit and change exercise every 10 minutes), you can make your workout more fun and stimulating!

I know we all want to lose weight and see the results at the blink of an eye. But, it is a process that takes time and effort, so don’t be disappointed and give up if it doesn’t go exactly how you planned it. This is the reason I never overdo; I push myself out of my comfort zone, for sure, but I never do more than I know I can do, because your safety and health comes before anything else. Speaking of which, a really important thing for me is hydration, which must never be underestimated. Remember to drink lots of water and to eat vegetables and fruit too. (I know I sound like a mom and I’m only 20!)

There are days when I feel like I want to do nothing and just lay on my couch watching Netflix and some days I want to skip my routine, because we all deserve some relaxation and it’s important to reward ourselves for every little progress. Remember: the only disastrous workout is the one you didn’t do; so even if you did a little bit, it’s still better than doing nothing.
